Most steaks are marinaded in a commercial standardised spice mix which could be bought off the shelves in the supermarkets. Here is a recipe with that little difference.
Cut into 4 – 5 slices depending on your preference
500 g Steak (beef, mutton, chicken or pork)
Marinade overnight in the fridge or at least 2 hours at room temperature in
2 heaped tsp of Nenek’s Garam Masala 1
1 level tsp salt
1 Tsp soya sauce
1 pinch of sugar
Mince
1 small onion and
2 cloves garlic,
fry until aromatic, then pour over marinaded Steak. Turn marinaded steaks in onion-garlic oil until evenly covered.
Grill in 250 °C pre-heated oven for 7 – 8 Min. Remove, wrap aluminum foil around the steaks. Let rest a couple of minutes.
Check taste and add salt according to your taste buds.
Serve with couscous, rice or potato puree. Garnish with carrot/radish strips and parsley or coriander sprig.
